The Mission
In late 1985, Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams left The Sisters of Mercy. Together with Simon Hinkler and Mick Brown, they formed The Mission. In early 1986, they embarked on their first European tour as the opening act for The Cult.
They released two singles independently, both reaching number 1 on the UK alternative charts. They then signed a worldwide record deal with Phonogram (now Universal).
The band gained great fame in North America and Europe, especially in the UK, largely due to their albums “God’s Own Medicine” (1986), “Children” (1988), and “Carved in Sand” (1990). In total, they have released thirteen studio albums, solidifying themselves as a cult band with a large fan base.
